Tulips, some of the years first bloomers.

Tulips are one of the first signs of spring and warmer weather. They are a bulb plant that blooms in the spring for only about a week before going dormant again. They are in the lily family and there are 150 species and over 3,000 varieties of tulips.

The flowers are perfectly symmetrical. t one time tulips were the most expensive flowers given as gifts, much like roses are today. Like roses different color of tulips carry different meanings, A White Tulip means that you are sorry, while a purple tulip signifies loyalty, and like with a red rose, red tulips signify true love.

Tulip bulbs are planted in the fall once the temperature drops enough for the first Frost. If you plant too early, the flowers can spring up in the fall and they won't come back the following spring. The best place to plant a tulip is where they will get plenty of Sun and sufficient drainage. They should be planted 5in deep pointed towards the Sun. Tulips are a perennial, which means they will come back year after year as long as they're taken care of properly. They are a fun, low maintenance, and beautiful plant to enjoy for the short while they are here.
